English
Turn a messy list of investor conversations into a clear, weighted scorecard so you can compare offers on the criteria that actually matter to your startup.
Steps
- Open ChatGPT or Claude in a new chat.
- Copy the prompt template below and paste it into the chat.
- Replace each {variable} with your real details: investor names, your stage, deal terms, strategic priorities, and the amount you're raising.
- Press send and read the scorecard it generates.
- Reply with one tweak: ask the AI to change the weights, add a criterion like 'founder chemistry', or rewrite the summary in plain language for your co-founders.
- Copy the final scorecard into a Google Doc or Notion page and share the link with your co-founders or advisors.
Prompts to Use
You are a startup fundraising advisor helping a founder compare investors objectively.
Context: I am the founder of a {your_stage} startup raising {investment_amount}. I am talking with multiple investors and need a scorecard to compare them fairly instead of choosing based on gut feeling.
Here are the investors I am comparing: {investor_names}
Here are the deal terms I have so far for each: {deal_terms}
Here are my strategic priorities for this round: {strategic_priorities}
Constraints:
- Use a 1-5 scoring scale for each criterion.
- Include these criteria at minimum: valuation, terms friendliness, speed to close, strategic value, founder chemistry, follow-on potential.
- Add 2 more criteria based on my strategic priorities.
- Weight each criterion so the total adds up to 100%.
- For each investor, give a score per criterion, a weighted total, and a one-line rationale.
- End with a short ranked summary and a recommendation on who to prioritize next.
Output format: a markdown table with columns: Criterion | Weight | Investor 1 score | Investor 2 score | ... followed by the ranked summary.
